Texas chain Whataburger beats McDonald’s, Burger King on value

Texas-based fast-food chain Whataburger has been named the best value burger in America, according to data from online lender NetCredit. The study compared portion sizes, calories, and protein, using home kitchen scales to weigh patties and fries. The WhatABurger has the largest patty among 14 major American burger chains and represents the best overall value at $1.66 per ounce of meat. Despite McDonald’s coming in second with the thinnest patty, the price is so low. Josh Cooper, a competitive chef, and former contestant on “MasterChef, praised Whataburgers' value-based recognition and fresh ingredients.
