A new youth agitation has gripped Indian state, Jharkhand, where hundreds of job seekers are demanding an overhaul of the state's government examination system. The protests stem from a preliminary civil service examination held in April, where candidates alleged that leaked answer sheets showed some successful applicants had answered far fewer questions than expected. The protesters want the exam scrapped and held again, and the case investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The allegations are being investigated by Jharkshand's Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Jharakhand Public Service Commission has since postponed the next stage of the examination. Protesters also want a wider probe into alleged recruitment irregularities and action against those responsible for long-delayed hiring. They want regular, transparent exams so candidates are not left waiting indefinitely.
