Vibe coding has led to an 84% increase in App Store submissions in 2025, according to research firm Sensor Tower. The growth of AI services like ChatGPT and Anthropic's Claude is believed to be behind the surge in submissions. Since Q1 2025, there has been a steady growth in submissions, followed by a massive increase in Q1 2026. For the full year of 2025, submissions grew by 30% versus 2024, nearly reaching 600,000 in total. For Q1 2020, apps submitted to the App Store hit 235,800, a year-over-year increase of 84%. The rise aligns with the introduction of agentic coding tools such as Claude Code and ChatGpt Codex. Despite the high number of apps entering the review process, Apple has been cracking down on AI vibe coding apps that are being listed in the App Stores.
