President Donald Trump's name will be included on new U.S. paper currency by summer, breaking a tradition that dates back to the 19th century. This move is part of a broader effort by the administration to brand the presidency itself. The Treasury Department has also approved a commemorative gold coin and proposals for a $1 coin featuring the president have raised legal and ethical questions. This is not the first time a sitting president's name has been included on federal banknotes. The move is seen as an extension of Trump's branding strategy, which has already included his name on government buildings and a proposed “Gold Card” for VIP immigrants.
