Gerrit Cole, a New York Yankees player, made his final spring start and indicated that he feels "really strong" in his recovery from Tommy John surgery. Cole, who has been steadily progressing his rehab, stated that he is sticking to a 14-to-18 month timeline for a return from surgery and could be on a big league mound as early as mid-May. Despite acknowledging the potential of going on the 60-day injured list, Cole said he has not been brought to his attention. The Yankees do not currently need to open a spot on the 40-man roster for Cole.
