Bronze Bison Arrive on the National Mall: A New Landmark Outside the Smithsonian

A pair of bronze statues have been unveiled outside the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History. The sculptures depict the bison that once stood on the National Mall in 1886, when the Smithsonian led an expedition to Montana. The installation was made possible through the generosity of local resident Naoma Tate. The bison are now on permanent display.
