The Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Detroit Red Wings 4-1, marking only their third win since the Winter Olympics break. Gage Goncalves and Jake Guentzel each scored two goals, setting a career high for goals in a season with 10. Tampa Bay's Nikita Kucherov had two assists and became the 72nd player in NHL history to reach the milestone. The win leaves Tampa Bay with a 3-6-0 record since the Olympics. Detroit's J.T. Compher and John Gibson also scored goals for the Lightning. The Red Wings announced that two of their centers, captain Dylan Larkin and Andrew Copp, would be out for two weeks due to lower-body injuries.
