Australia's recorded music industry reported a modest 1.4% growth to A$727 million ($512 million) in 2025, according to ARIA, a rate significantly slower than the global result. The wholesale sum is the largest ever reported and marks the seventh consecutive year of upward progress. Consumer appetite for CDs increased by nearly A$5 million ($3.5 million) and subscription platforms saw a year-on-year increase in income. However, the growth was seen as a concern as the industry's streaming model remained flat at 0.4%. The IFPI reported that music revenue grew to US$31.7 billion worldwide in 2025. China saw a significant 20.1% growth, surpassing Germany as the fourth largest global market. Meanwhile, the vinyl album format in Australia grew 4.1%.
