USC basketball player Chad Baker-Mazara, the second-leading scorer for the team, has withdrawn from the University of Southern California (USC) with no explanation given. He was the player who started 22 of 26 games for the struggling Trojans this season, including a 14-point effort in an 82-67 loss to No. 12 Nebraska. No details were provided regarding the player's health or future. After the game, second-year coach Eric Musselman said he had not yet spoken to a trainer about the player’s health. The 26-year-old graduate student from the Dominican Republic was MVP of the Maui Invitational in November.
