AI crime cameras surveilling San Fernando Valley amid spike in home break-ins

ACS Security has deployed a mobile surveillance unit that uses artificial intelligence to track potential suspects in a high-traffic area of Studio City, Los Angeles. The unit was placed at the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Ethel Avenue and monitors the area 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Any activity deemed suspicious is sent to a specialized call center where human operators can assist in real time. This move is part of a broader response outlined by L.A. Mayor Karen Bass and LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell to address the surge in burglaries. However, some residents remain uneasy about the recent increase in home break-ins.
