RAF Typhoon jets have been deployed over Bahrain as part of the UK's contribution to the defence of its Gulf Arab allies during the US-Israel war. Two of the four jets sent to Qatar were specifically intended to assist in intercepting incoming drones. This comes as Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper arrives in Saudi Arabia amid concerns about Iranian threats to the Strait of Hormuz. The UK has also flown air combat patrols over Jordan and the United Arab Emirates and a number of sorties over Qatar.
