Hillary Kurzawa, a Frankfort Township trustee and administrator, has been chosen as the chair of the Will County Republican Central Committee for a two-year term succeeding Christina Clausen who did not seek reelection. Will County Board member Katie Deane-Schlottman was named the committee secretary. Kurzova, a lifelong Will County resident, has served as the past secretary of the committee and was also a four-year chair and secretary of a Will County Young Republicans. She plans to focus on local issues such as property taxes, spending and transparency. The party is also aiming to gain a few more Republican seats on the County Board, which has been evenly divided among Republicans and Democrats.
