Costco is expanding its membership offerings with the opening of its first freestanding gas station in Mission Viejo, California, in June. The station will be the company's largest, with 40 pumping stations and 20 fueling dispensers. It will not have a convenience store, but will have a 17,000-square foot "fueling canopy" and an office for employees. The store will be open to Costco members seven days a week. It is unclear if Costco will expand the concept to other states or if it will only be limited to certain markets.
