Albuquerque Police Department (APD) has released details about the fatal shooting of 41-year-old Stephen Griego, who was fatally shot by four officers in Downtown Albuquerque on July 3. The officers, Preston Harris, Jed Jeffries, Diana Magallanes and Sgt. Ralph Rodriguez, opened fire on Griege, killing him and injuring a bystander. The incident occurred after Griegego had been assaulted in Downtown and posted a video on social media suggesting he would be armed with a gun to prevent future incidents. The police identified the officers involved in the shooting as officers Preston Harris and Jed Jeffry, who have not previously been involved in a prior shooting. The two men shot by Griegi were treated at a hospital with non life-threatening injuries. An administrative investigation will be conducted to determine if the officers followed department policies.
