The bill would require youth sports coaches to receive basic mental health training and inform parents about potential mental health impacts after a concussion. Peterson argues that while athletes are often told to be mentally tough, real mental strength also comes from support from coaches. The Act aims to ensure that coaches across Colorado receive basic training and awareness of potential health effects of concussions. It has passed the Senate and is now moving through the House.
