Essex Police find 1,100 cannabis plants in Chigwell barn

The discovery of over 1,100 cannabis plants was made during a search in Gravel Lane, Chigwell, Essex. Five men were arrested and two have been charged with producing a Class B drug. The police described it as a "substantial and well-organised cannabis factory" growing the drug on an industrial scale. The incident occurred during the search.
