Rachel Zegler and Paapa Essiedu Win Olivier Awards, But ‘Paddington the Musical’ Owns the Night

The Olivier Awards, the UK equivalent of the Tony Awards, held a ceremony in London where winners were Rachel Zegler and Paapa Essiedu. The production of Paddington the Musical won seven prizes, including best actor for James Hameed and Arti Shah, who operate the bear's voice and suit. The musical also won awards for best new musical, best supporting actor and actress, best director, best set design, and best costume design. McFly singer Tom Fletcher, who composed songs for the musical, said the show was about celebrating kindness. Other winners included Rosamund Pike for her performance in Inter Alia, and Harry Potter’s PaapaEssiedu for All My Sons. Bryan Cranston lost best actor to Jack Holden for Kenrex.
