The Boys creator and showrunner Eric Kripke revealed that Amazon bosses questioned the decision to end the series at five seasons due to the explosive ending of the fourth season. Kripk insisted that he had no choice but to "end it on our terms". The finale of season 4 saw the President being framed for Neuman's murder and several members of The Boys being captured. The Boys season 5 will debut on Prime Video on April 8.
