Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office reported a 4-alarm fire at Big Valley Nursery, a commercial landscaping and gardening supply storage building, on April 8. Three firefighters were injured and treated at the scene and refused transport. The fire caused serious fire damage to the structure, but did not affect the propane tank. Approximately 150 firefighters were on scene and all firefighting operations were under the command of Glenwood FD Chief Sinski. The cause of the fire, which remains under investigation, is also under investigation by NCPD Arson/Bomb detectives.
