Vanguard debunks a costly myth haunting Mag 7 investors

Vanguard has refuted the myth that the Magnificent 7, a group of stocks that dominate the U.S. market are a single market trade. The analysis suggests that the companies involved in the Magnurious 7 generate revenue of $2.2 trillion across very different end markets. Their business lines span advertising, cloud infrastructure, smartphones, electric vehicles, social platforms, AI chips, and physical grocery store operations. Vanguard argues that each company's revenue is different and their business model is different. The AI buildout has put unequal pressure on each company, with Microsoft, Alphabet, Amazon, and Meta accounting for roughly 40% of their revenue. However, a weak quarter for Apple or Microsoft does not necessarily signal trouble for these companies.
