The Kansas City Emergency Operations Center served as a coordination hub for multiple agencies during severe weather, allowing agencies to communicate directly without delays. The center includes over 7,000 cameras across the metro that feed directly into the room to monitor flood-prone areas and trouble spots without sending crews into the storm. This was the first moderate risk severe weather event for the metro since May 2019. The National Weather Service also provided updates on the latest weather updates.
