The Massachusetts Parole Board, which released alleged gunman Tyler Brown from MCI-Shirley last year, has been implicated in the Cambridge shooting that left two people injured and two critically wounded. Brown had previously served time in state prison after being convicted of shooting at Boston police officers in 2020. The parole board stated that Brown was remorseful and had completed a number of studies and participated in a Bachelors Program at Tufts University. The public has little recourse when justice goes off the rails due to the Parole board's immunity from lawsuits by injured individuals. This disregard for human life is seen as a routine issue in Massachusetts, particularly in light of recent high-profile shootings involving Gerald Vick Jr.
