Philadelphia 76ers forward Kelly Oubre Jr. compared Bam Adebayo's 83-point performance for the Miami Heat to Joel Embiid's 70-point game for the Sixers in January 2024 to the second-highest single-game scoring total in NBA history. The game was played against the Washington Wizards, where Adebayedo set the NBA records for both free throws attempted and made while playing 42 minutes. However, the 76ers did not make a significant contribution to this game.
