UMKC names new women’s basketball coach, returning to Roos for second stint

UMKC has announced Candi Whitaker as its next head coach for the 2026-27 season, returning to the sidelines for the women's basketball program. Whitaker previously coached the Roos in 2006, leading the program for six seasons. She will be the 11th head coach in the school's Division I history. The move comes as part of a larger effort to elevate the program in the future.
