OpenAI (AI) has acquired personal finance startup Hiro and new media startup TBPN, suggesting it may be aiming to create a product with more hooks than just a chatbot and potentially value it more for. The company also may be looking to improve its image in the public eye, which has been poor lately. However, these deals suggest that OpenAI is still interested in personal finance products. The TBPN acquisition also suggests that the company may be focusing on making ChatGPT and its GPT models competitive in an enterprise context with programmers. However these acquisitions may raise questions about whether or not OpenAI will ever make enough money to become a sustainable business.
