After a pre-Easter heist saw hundreds of thousands of Kit Kat bars disappear in Europe, KitKat's Canadian arm, has enlisted the Secret Service to provide 'presidential-level protection' on shipping trucks. The move comes after a truck carrying over 400,000 KitKat bars was stolen from a production site in Italy and has yet to be recovered. The company has deployed security escorts, in-store guards, and SUV convoys to ensure its iconic wafer bars are safely transported to retail. The global distributor, Nestlé, has also launched a tongue-in-cheek tracker to locate the missing sweets using batch codes. The over-the-top security measures have caused traffic delays and caused some confusion among fans, with some believing it was a publicity stunt.
