Community leaders and partners from Westside Church of God in Southwest Fresno have broken ground on the first faith-based affordable housing development under California's Senate Bill 4 Affordable Housing on Faith Lands Act. The 21-unit housing development is expected to serve low-income seniors and is led by the Southwest Fresno Community Development Corporation in partnership with Westside church of God. The project will include eight one-bedroom cottages for residents 62 and older, many of whom are on fixed incomes and are at risk of homelessness. The development will also include green space, walking paths and community gathering areas designed to support aging in place.
