Gary Woodland, amid PTSD battle, set to play Masters

Gary Woodland, the 2019 U.S. Open champion, is set to play the Masters after his unexpected victory in the Texas Children's Houston Open last month. Woodland had been battling post-traumatic stress syndrome for about a year and underwent surgery in 2023 to remove a benign lesion from his brain that was causing seizures and anxiety and fear. Following surgery, Woodland was diagnosed with PTSD and has been meeting with security officials at Augusta National Golf Club to ensure he is safe. Despite his struggles, he remains optimistic about his performance and is proud of his comeback.
