State Sen. Heidi Campbell and her partner in the House, state Rep. Aftyn Behn, are pushing for the legalization of cannabis in Tennessee to help fund critical road repairs. The legislation would use the tax revenue generated by legalizing marijuana sales to fund infrastructure improvements. The bill's fiscal note estimates $29 million in annual pot tax revenue. The proposal is aimed at drawing attention to a $58 billion backlog in unfunded road projects.
