The founder and president of the American Iranian Council has stated that the U.S. has been defeated in the war with Iran and will not re-engage even if Iran closes the Strait of Hormuz again. He suggests that the United States should find a way to normalize relations with an Iran where power is in the hands of the Revolutionary Guard Corps.
