Why Drew Fortescue feels ‘lucky’ after signing Rangers contract

Drew Fortescue, a 20-year-old New York Rangers player, has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the team. This comes after his Boston College teammate, Gabe Perreault, signed his first professional contract less than 24 hours after his collegiate season. Fortesce will report directly to New York and effectively burn a year of his ELC. The head coach, Mike Sullivan, plans to give Fortescee some practices before introducing him into a game. He also hopes to bring his ability to shutdown top opponents to the NHL, a strength of his at BC, to an advanced level.
