A Frontier Airlines plane hit and killed a pedestrian on the runway of the Denver International Airport during takeoff, leading to an engine fire and evacuation of passengers. The flight was headed from the airport to Los Angeles and was forced to abort takeoff. The incident occurred at approximately 11:19 p.m. There were 12 injuries reported, with five requiring hospitalization. The National Transportation Safety Board has notified the incident. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy described the pedestrian as a "trespasser" who breached security and ran onto the runway. The airport will remain closed while the investigation is conducted.
