Nebraska lawmaker fails again to revive anti-trans bills after repeated attempts

State Sen. Kathleen Kauth, a Republican from Omaha, has failed to revive anti-trans legislation in the Nebraska legislature again. Her latest attempt involved introducing two amendments, one which would have included bathroom restrictions based on a person's sex in government buildings and another that would have revived restrictions on gender-affirming care for transgender minors. The bill's sponsor, State Sen. John Cavanaugh, accused his colleagues of hijacking the bill. Kauth has vowed to bring these measures back next year.
