Intuit CTO Alex Balazs is leading a radical shift in financial software, turning it into systems that can act on a user's behalf. The company, which controls over 60% of the SMB accounting software market, is working to turn finance into a "system of intelligence" that understands financial context and acts on it in real time. The strategy is already successful, with Intuit reporting $4.7 billion in revenue, up 17% year over year, and operating income rising 44% on a GAAP basis.
