Chicago's Mayor Brandon Johnson unveiled the 'Abolish ICE' snowplow, a play on words directed at President Donald Trump's use of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Chicago and other cities to enforce the administration's aggressive deportations. The name was submitted over 9,000 times, accounting for 70% of all submissions in a citywide contest to name six new salt trucks. However, a heckler called the truck's name a joke in light of the murder of Loyola University Chicago freshman Sheridan Gorman. Johnson has also opposed moves by Trump to deploy scores of ICE officers to airports, including O'Hare International Airport, amid an ongoing partial government shutdown.
