The National Weather Service reported that Las Vegas had the second-warmest February in the valley since record-keeping began in 1937, with the average median temperature being 58.9 degrees, 5.4 degrees above normal, and only 0.35 inches of rain was recorded on three days. The warmest February was in 2015. Despite this warm weather, the weather service predicted that a major cool-off is coming this week, with temperatures expected to reach the mid-70s and temperatures expected only to reach mid-80s. A "stronger shot of cooler air" will arrive Thursday, with daytime highs expected to be in the mid to mid-60s, which is usually the coldest period for Las Vegas.
