A large block of dirty ice fell through a California home on April 10, causing a significant explosion and crashing through the ceiling. The Los Angeles County Supervisor, Janice Hahn, found the dirty ice on the living room floor and alerted the FAA. The homeowner, Thania Magana, said flight data showed a plane was passing over her neighborhood at the time. Hahn wrote a letter to FAA Acting Regional Administrator Raquel Girvin requesting a thorough investigation into the incident. The incident raises concerns about aviation safety over densely populated communities in Los Angeles. The hole in the roof has been patched up.
