This has led her to express her frustration on the r/AmITheJerk forum on Reddit, where she was asked if she was in the wrong by her boyfriend. She argued that his parents are genuinely nice people and this was not personal, but as a 31 year old woman, she has her own life that she doesn't want to limit to weekdays. After she spoke up, her boyfriend told her that his mom was feeling the tension and that he had made her feel bad by pulling back. The commenters on the thread agreed, stating that the two adult days that don't automatically belong to his parents were considered a group issue.
