Bid to cut agency staff use working, minister says

Jersey Health and Social Services Department's reliance on agency healthcare workers is increasing, according to Jersey Health Minister Tom Binet. The department is using agency staff to cover gaps in areas hit by nationwide shortages, with the number of agency nurses dropping sharply over the past year. Binet also stated that the department is strengthening its internal staff bank to ensure short-term shifts can be filled by existing workers rather than outside agencies.
