Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has discussed his retirement plans for the NBA, stating that his journey will be his own following his playing career. He did not see former players who transitioned into broadcasting roles as examples of what he should follow after retiring as examples. James also mentioned his plans to spend much time with his family and wife after his retirement, including spending much of his playing time with their daughter and wife. He also mentioned that he would be happy when he retires to give himself some grace and spend more time away from the sport. James, currently playing this season on an expiring contract, has yet to confirm whether he plans to return for a 24th season.
