Islanders’ disappointing season ends with loss to Hurricanes

The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the New York Islanders 2-1 in a regular match at UBS Arena. Mark Jankowski scored the winning goal in the third period. Nikolaj Ehlers also scored, while Bo Horvat scored for the Islanders. The loss was the seventh consecutive loss for the team. Pyotr Kochetkov, who was unavailable due to a roster technicality, was activated from injured reserve and will be eligible for the playoffs.
