Saki Adachi, a 60-year-old woman from Tokyo, earns over 3 million yen per month cleaning up after Japan's 'lonely deaths' and crime scenes. With the country's solitary deaths now exceeding 40,000 annually and increasing in the capital, "special cleaning" crews are in high demand. Takuya Shioda, head of Tokyo-based special cleaning firm Musashi Think Tank, says his company rakes in over 15 million yen a month by restoring death scenes and handling inheritance paperwork. Despite the grueling nature of the job, Adachi warns that it requires high technical skill to remove the smells, stains, and properly disinfect the area. She also notes that inexperienced recruits can earn a daily wage of 20,000 to 30,000 yen, reaching 500,000 per month.
