North Carolina woman, Kahla Jeffries, won $100,000 after purchasing her first lottery ticket at a convenience store. The ticket, a $100k Cash Payday scratch-off, was a $10,000 top-prize winner. Jeffries plans to use her winnings to buy a car and save for school. The $100K Cash PayDay game debuted in March with 80 top prizes worth $100000 each remaining unclaimed. As of July 24, 58 of these prizes remained unclaimed, with Jeffries claiming $72,018 after required federal and state tax withholdings.
