Colleen Jo Matarico, a teacher at John Burroughs Middle School in Los Angeles, is accused of providing a 13-year-old student with marijuana, raping him, and leaving her husband to be with the boy, whom she called her "crystal meth". Mataric, who had been a teacher for 25 years, made a brief appearance in a court hearing wearing a prison jumpsuit and shackled, and appeared almost unrecognizable from her previous appearance. If convicted of all charges, she faces over 20 years in prison.
