Iowa State forward Joshua Jefferson is unlikely to play in the No. 2 seed Cyclones' game against No. 7 seed Kentucky in the NCAA Tournament after suffering a sprained left ankle during a game against Queens. Jefferson, Iowa State's second-leading scorer and top rebounder, was helped to leave the court after landing awkwardly on his ankle during the game. Despite X-rays being negative, Jefferson watched the rest of the game from the bench. Jefferson is averaging 16.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and 4.8 assists for the Cyclones, who are trying to reach their first Final Four since 1944. Kentucky coach Mark Pope said the team would prepare as if Jefferson would play, but that it won't change their identity.
