Hector Gomez, an undocumented immigrant with a history of weapons convictions, has pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a firearm by a felon in connection to shots fired near immigration agents in Little Village, Chicago. This conviction marks the second felony conviction on federal charges stemming from Operation Midway Blitz. Gomez, who faces up to 2 1/2 years in prison when he is sentenced, will also face deportation once he is released. His arrest occurred during a chaotic morning of immigration raids on Nov. 8, which resulted in a police officer being hit by a car and a baby girl being pepper-sprayed. No one was injured during the raids.
