Medical personnel on standby for injured passengers diverted from Denver airport to Colorado Springs

Turbulence caused nearly 30 flights from Denver International Airport to Colorado Springs Airport on Monday evening, resulting in five passengers receiving medical attention due to significant turbulence. The Colorado Springs Fire Department and additional emergency responders remained at the airport for additional medical needs as flights continued to land. Of the passengers receiving treatment, one was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition. Some flights had begun returning to Denver around 9:30 p.m. However, this is not necessarily an indication that no more flights will be diverted. The airport receives the most diverted flights from both United Airlines and Denver International airports annually.
