Bystander, emergency responders rescue 6 people from burning van, Portland firefighters say

A crash on North Columbia Boulevard left six people trapped inside a burning van under Interstate 5, according to Portland Fire & Rescue. The incident occurred around 8 p.m. A passer-by and a local community member helped rescue the trapped passengers. No one was injured in the crash, but five were taken to hospitals with nonlife-threatening injuries.
