Boston billionaires, historic figures land on Forbes’ ‘self-made’ lists

Forbes has released two new lists: "The Greatest Self-Made Americans" and "Historical Self-Making Americans" featuring multiple Boston-area billionaires and historical figures with local ties. The list includes three local billionaires: Noubar Afeyan, Bill Cummings, and Herb Chambers. The second list includes 250 historical figures, including Benjamin Franklin and Sheldon Adelson, as well as Red Sox legends Babe Ruth and Ted Williams. The rankings were based on "Self-Made Scores" based on financial success, obstacles overcome, and long-term impact.
