Two dog walkers discovered 2,000-year-old footprints at Lunan Bay Beach in Angus, Scotland, while walking their dogs. The discovery was made while walking dogs and quickly alerted archaeological experts to preserve the find. The team had only 48 hours to document the prints before they were destroyed due to weather and waves. The find was one of only a few in Britain of similar importance and the first of its kind in Scotland. The prints were from barefooted humans and were only revealed as a storm's winds scattered sand from dunes along the Scottish coast. Despite the destruction of the site within 48 hours, William Mills, a post-doctoral researcher, said the find demonstrated the potential for additional archaeological information in the area.
